FC Melbourne Palestine

About the club

FC Melbourne Palestine is a community-led football club established by members of Melbourne’s Palestinian community with a shared vision of creating more than just a football team.

Our mission

FC Melbourne Palestine’s mission is to establish a professionally run, sustainable football club that serves as a long-term community hub for Melbourne’s Palestinian community through sport, culture and community engagement.

We aim to provide pathways for players of all backgrounds by launching Senior and Reserve Men’s and Women’s teams, competing within the Football Victoria State League system, and creating opportunities for the next generation of footballers to develop, grow and succeed. We strive to promote inclusion, respect, unity and community pride.

Our vision

We envision FC Melbourne Palestine becoming more than just a football club. We aspire to build a lasting legacy for the Palestinian community in Melbourne.

Through football, we aim to unite people, celebrate our culture, provide opportunities for players to develop and compete at the highest level possible, and create a welcoming environment where everyone feels they belong.

Who started it

FC Melbourne Palestine was founded by a team of volunteers united by a shared vision to create more than just a football club.

Mohamed, holding a trophy

Part of this founding team is Mohamed, a 19-year-old Palestinian Australian. Mohamed has represented clubs including Dandenong City, Berwick City and Melbourne Victory.

  • Two National Premier Leagues championships
  • Golden Boot award, three times
  • State Championship runner-up representing his high school
  • Call-up to the Victorian State Team

Through his experiences in the game, Mohamed recognised the opportunity to establish a club that would unite the community, provide pathways for aspiring footballers, and create a place where people feel a sense of belonging both on and off the field.

Supporting Mohamed is a dedicated team of volunteers who contribute their time, expertise and passion to bring this vision to life.
